The Comic Book Art Institute is the West Coast’s ONLY art academy offering an extensive program in comic book art.  In addition to our class curriculum, we also offer a series of in-depth workshops on comic book art, cartooning, anatomy and visual storytelling.  Our regular workshops are held in booth 807 at the Frank & Son Collectible Show in the City of Industry on Wednesdays and Saturdays every week.

The Comic Book Art Institute is dedicated to the teaching all aspects of comic book art and visual storytelling to children and adults, as well as helping to promote comic book art itself to the world at large.  Come, join us at the CBAI and learn to create comic books.

OUR INSTRUCTORS:

MAT NASTOS
Mat Nastos is an industry veteran of the film, television and comic book industries, with nearly 100 film and television credits to his name as a storyboard artist.  He was been called a “legendary industry talent” in the comic book industry by Tony Caputo in the book “Visual Storytelling: The Art and Technique,” and his comic book work has appeared in 27 countries and been translated into 9 languages.  His publishing company, Nifty Comics, has sold more than 250,000 copies of his comic book, the Cadre, since 2005.  Nastos is currently working on his 3rd film as writer/director/producer.
